Toll Aviation delivers vital aviation services to the Australian Defence Force (ADF), supporting critical operations through the Crash Response Helicopter (CRH) contract. We provide aircraft, specialised personnel, maintenance, training, and comprehensive operational planning to support the readiness and effectiveness of the ADF.
The CRH contract provides two AW139 helicopters to the Australian Army Aviation Training Centre in Oakey, Queensland, and one AW139 aircraft to the 1st Aviation Regiment located in Darwin. The role of the CRH is to convey medical and emergency response personnel and equipment to an aircraft emergency landing or crash site, and if required evacuate casualties to an appropriate health facility. In addition, the Darwin based CRH aircraft provides an aeromedical evacuation capability to support ADF exercises throughout the year.
Toll Aviation also provides a Survey and Quote aircraft capability, available across the ADF, to deliver tailored aeromedical evacuation and rapid response support for specific Defence activities. This capability can be deployed nationally for varying durations and configured with flexible crewing models to meet individual operational requirements, providing Defence with a scalable and responsive option outside the standing CRH framework.
